The All India Junior Selection Committee has announced the Indian team for the Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2020. This World Cup will be played in South Africa from 17 January to 9 February.

The All India Junior Selection Committee has announced the Indian team for the Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2020. This World Cup will be played in South Africa from 17 January to 9 February. In the 13th edition of the World Cup, 16 teams will participate, which will have four groups. The team includes budding cricketers from Mumbai like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Atharva Ankolekar. The team will be captained by Meerut-born Priyam Garg.
The Indian team has been placed in Group-A, which will have teams from New Zealand and Sri Lanka, in addition to the Japanese team who qualified for the first time. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super League stage.

In the Under-19 World Cup, India has managed to win the title 4 times so far. Team India also won the previous Under-19 World Cup title in 2018. Then she defeated Australia by eight wickets in the final and was invincible throughout the tournament.

Right-handed top-order batsman Priyam Garg, 19, has scored a double century and a century in first-class cricket. He was part of the India-C team, which finished runner-up in the Deodhar Trophy. He scored 74 runs in the final against India-B last month.

Before the World Cup, the U-19 Indian team will travel to South Africa for three ODIs against South Africa U-19. After this there will be a quadrangular series between South Africa U-19, India U-9, Zimbabwe U-19 and New Zealand U-19.
