Farmer's debt waiver: BJP quote, 'vote for vote by giving slogan and then forgetting all Congress character'

New Delhi: While accusing Congress of failing to fulfill the promise of farmers 'debt waiver, the BJP said on Thursday that voting for slogans and forgetting everything after getting votes is the character of the Congress party and the farmers' debt waiver In this case it has proved once more.

Union minister and senior BJP leader Manoj Sinha said at the party headquarters that in the recent assembly elections, the Congress party promised to forgive the farmers' debt. But the Congress party has done more than just deceit with the farmers. In Madhya Pradesh, it has come to mention that the amount of money like 97 rupees, 313 rupees of many farmers has been waived.

He insisted that many farmers who did not take loan, their name came out in the list of borrowers. Cases of alleged arrest of farmers in Karnataka and alleged suicide have also come up.

'Reasonable farmers' debt forgiveness is not happening'
Manoj Sinha alleged that on one side the debt waiver of the legitimate farmers is not being received and on the other hand there are reports that the debts of the people of the families of the Congress leaders have been waived. Standards are being clearly violated in the debt waiver. The loans of farmers who have 18 acres of land have been waived. In this context, BJP leader also gave examples including the names of some farmers.

Accusing the Congress of making promises to farmers, Sinha said, "Voting votes by giving slogans has been the character of the Congress party and after getting votes, they forget all that, after getting votes, does not work on any announcement." He alleged that the Congress party and its president are making the people of the country fools.

Manoj Sinha alleged that earlier even when there was a Congress-led government, the debt waiver was made but it came as a debt waiver scandal. He said that Congress had promised farmers debt relief before the assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, but the examples which have come out are funny to farmers in the name of debt waiver.

'The central government is trying to double the income of farmers'
He stressed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is trying to double the income of the farmers and, of course, will benefit the farmers of the country.

Demanding the Congress to fulfill the promise of farmers' debt waiver, he said that we want to strengthen them by helping the farmers so that they can contribute more in nation building.
