Maharashtra government said, 'Can not be given reservation on the basis of religion'
After the Maratha reservation in Maharashtra, the issue of Muslim reservation is now getting caught. AIMIM has raised this issue with loudness that the party will go to court for Muslim reservation. On the other hand, the state government has said that they can not give reservations on the basis of religion. However, Shivsena is standing in favor of Muslim reservation.
There is a debate on the Muslim reservation in Maharashtra. In 2014, Prithviraj Chavan, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, gave away 5% reservation to education and employment to the Muslims along with the Marathas, but both the cases when the Bombay High Court arrived, the court had banned them. On the Muslim reservation, the court had said that Muslims can be given reservation for education, not for employment.
AIMIM has taken a tough stand on the Muslim reservation, the party said that he will go to the court regarding this issue. AIMIM has said that there is no hope of government reservation for Muslim reservation.

The Chief Minister said that 52 castes of Muslim society have already been given reservation due to the recommendations of the Backward Classes Commission, reservation can be given if the Backward Classes Commission recommends reservation for other castes. The Chief Minister said that a meeting will be called for discussion with all-party leaders for discussion.
